The Music by American Composers, like Leonard Bernstein - West Side Story,  John Philip Sousa - Stars and Stripes Forever and Aaron Copland - Hoedown and Fanfare for the Common Man;  with a thoughtful narration written by historian and musician, Elizabeth Blondia and presented by Bill Dungjen will have you on your feet.  


Thanks to our supporters, we are able to offer this concert - FREE to military members and veterans and children under 18.  Tickets available only at the door.   Suggested donation of $15 for all others.

Join  us for an afternoon of light and intriguing chamber music selections brought to you by the musicians of the Benzie  Area Symphony Orchestra.


You'll hear the various instrument families (strings, woodwinds & brass)  each shine in their own spotlight, featured in imaginative combinations.  An excellent opportunity to learn the different instruments of the  orchestra and their unique personalities!

Introducing Our Conductor James A Holleman w. special guest, Emily Douglas

Sunday, August 23, 4 pm | Benzie Central HS Auditorium


The performance will include the debut of BASO's new conductor,James A Holleman and  feature soprano Emily Douglass, performing works from Dvořák and Coonradt.


Suggested Donation: $15 adults, $10 seniors, FREE for those 17 and under. 




MUSICAL FUN FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

Sunday, September 27 | 4 pm | Interlochen Center for the Arts, Corson Auditorium


Kids of all ages are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun. Selections will include "The Composer is Dead" by Nathaniel Stookey and text by Lemony Snicket.  BASO will also perform music from the films "Ratatouille" and "How to Train Your Dragon." 


Suggested Donation: $15 adults, $10 seniors, FREE for those 17 and under.
